Author, Understanding the Americans with Disabilities Act, 2nd Edition (American Bar Association, 2006) and numerous articles on the rights of persons with disabilities.

The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) is an extremely complex law.  The Offices of William D. Goren concentrates its efforts on ADA compliance with the aim of making the ADA more understandable for the client. Mr. Goren has been involved with ADA compliance since 1990 and is helped in those efforts by understanding what it means to have a disability (bilateral congenital hearing loss of 65-90 db mitigated by hearing aids and lip reading).  Mr. Goren is also aided in his efforts to make the ADA more understandable by his years of teaching, which he has done full time since 1999 and has won numerous teaching awards during that time.  Mr. Goren is also the author of two books and numerous articles dealing with ADA compliance. Mr. Goren is currently an Instructor and Program Coordinator of the Paralegal Program at South Suburban College in South Holland and Oak Forest, Illinois.

Services offered by the office include:

  1. Consult with Attorneys (Plaintiff and Defendant) on cases involving questions of ADA compliance (Titles I, II, and III), and/or compliance with the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, the law that is the precursor to the ADA and which applies to entities taking federal funds;
  2. Serve as an expert witness(Plaintiff and Defendant) on cases involving questions of ADA compliance (Titles I, II, and III) and compliance with the Rehabilitation Act of 1973;
  3. Legal research and writing pertaining to the ADA, and the Rehabilitation Act of 1973;
  4. Provide counsel on ADA and/or Rehabilitation Act compliance.
  5. Assist with ADA/Rehabilitation Act litigation.
  6. Mediation
  7. Continuing Education Speaker and Corporate Training.
